We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team at VenuesWest. The successful applicant will provide technical support to teaching staff in the area of routine chemical and equipment preparation, and construction of simple apparatus for science classes.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and has excellent communication skills. Key duties include:

  • Providing technical support to teaching staff
  • Preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities
  • Conducting experiments and demonstrations to support curriculum requirements
  • Developing and implementing new laboratory procedures and protocols

Key Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working within a science laboratory, including knowledge of laboratory techniques and relevant safety and legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of science subjects relevant to the curriculum taught in secondary schools and the ability to design and construct experiments and equipment to support curriculum requirements.
  • Demonstrated good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated well-developed keyboarding and computer skills including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
