About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Cement Australia as a Mechanical Fitter, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of plant and equipment
  • Support breakdowns and shift work, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity
  • Contribute to shutdowns, taking on a supervisor or coordinator role as required
  • Undertake tasks with a focus on long-term repairs and high-quality workmanship
  • Ensure maintenance work meets statutory and AS/NZ standards, using OEM manuals and peer support
  • Diagnose and repair faults safely and efficiently, following manufacturers' instructions
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals
  • Prepare work areas for maintenance, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment
  • Use site systems and SAP to document and archive maintenance records, adhering to site procedures
  • Work within the on-demand system, responding flexibly to changing priorities
  • Induct and supervise contractors during service visits, ensuring facility access

About You:

  • Relevant mechanical trade qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Strong focus on safety and compliance
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to manage project execution
  • Availability and flexibility to work overtime when required
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in tight deadlines
