Research Assistant Position
This role supports ongoing investigations and conducts specific experiments in the field of ovarian biology and embryology.
The ideal candidate will provide high-level expertise and support for various research projects within the Oocyte Biology Research Unit, including conducting research under supervision and with limited supervision.
The Oocyte Biology Research Unit focuses on understanding the mechanisms mediating oocyte quality and embryo development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and implementation of research studies, including conducting literature reviews and developing experimental protocols.
- Conduct experiments and data analysis using various techniques and methods.
- Support researchers in the preparation and presentation of results, including creating reports and visualizations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop new research ideas and approaches.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of experiments and results.
Requirements:
- A university degree in Science, Health Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through education, training, or experience.
- Prior professional experience in a laboratory environment, with practical techniques and knowledge of oocytes/embryos and molecular biology.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, with ability to accurately plan, execute, and document experimental research.
- Excellent time management and recordkeeping skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in handling biological fluids and preferably experience in mouse handling, experimentation, and dissection.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility in hours of work where required when working on experiments, and willingness to travel off-campus.
