About the Role

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Project Manager to lead complex programs in Australia. As an APS employee, you will have access to generous employment benefits, including professional learning opportunities.

In this role, you will contribute to the establishment of domestic manufacturing of selected guided weapons and explosive ordnance in Australia. You will work in a dynamic environment, leading multiple tasks concurrently across a multi-phased enduring program.

As a Deputy Project Manager in the Industrial Delivery Branch, you will be part of a diverse team delivering systems to the Australian Defence Force. Your responsibilities will include applying project management skills and experience to lead activities with Industry Partners, Foreign Government agencies, and internal stakeholders.

This position is subject to an additional 10% Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). You will be eligible for this payment if you meet the eligibility criteria and maintain effective performance.

About Our Team

The Industrial Delivery Branch is part of the Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance Delivery Division (GWEODD). Our team is responsible for establishing selected GWEO domestic manufacturing as directed in the National Defence Strategy 2024. We are located in Canberra and focus on acquiring and sustaining guided weapons and munitions for the Australian Defence Force.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply project management skills and experience to lead activities with Industry Partners, Foreign Government agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the establishment of domestic manufacturing of selected guided weapons and explosive ordnance in Australia.
  • Work in a dynamic environment, leading multiple tasks concurrently across a multi-phased enduring program.
  • Participate in a diverse team delivering systems to the Australian Defence Force.
