Role Overview

The role involves providing legal support to medical practitioners in a collaborative environment focused on delivering quality services and making a difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality legal advice and services in respect of medical defence matters to claims managers and members.
  • Provide general medico-legal advice to members and Claims Managers.
  • Represent medical practitioners before various courts and tribunals.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary legal qualifications.
  • Eligibility to hold an unsupervised practising certificate as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court and the High Court.
  • Demonstrated post-admission experience in private practice (ideally 2-4 years PQE) in medical negligence or professional conduct-related litigation.
  • Previous experience in conducting all phases of litigation and/or professional conduct cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
