About the Role

The Maintenance Department at Ramelius Resources is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their team at the Mt Magnet gold processing plant. As a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with daily tasks, filling in for the Supervisor in their absence, and completing mechanical maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with delegation of daily tasks to the work group.
  • Filling in for the Supervisor in their absence.
  • Completion of daily mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment components to determine causes of failures and carry out repairs in a timely manner.
  • Implement corrective and preventative actions to ensure effective maintenance.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant performance.
  • Follow instructions within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Assist other Departments as required.
  • Carry out after-hours work as required.
  • Identify hazards in the work environment and resolve them in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Risk Management processes conducted daily.
  • Training of Apprentices.

About You
  • Mechanical Trade Certificate with 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Working and technical knowledge of process plants and related practices.
  • Forklift (Worksafe High Risk Work Licence).
  • EWP (Worksafe High Risk Work Licence).
  • CN Non-Slewing Crane licence (Desirable).
  • Skid steer and integrated tool carrier (IT) licences (Desirable).
  • Working at heights and confined space qualifications.
  • A West Australian C class driver's license (manual) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance purposes.
  • Positive and proactive approach to safety.
