We're looking for an experienced Visual Effects Compositor to join our team in Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Stranger Things, and Marvel Studios' What If...?

The successful candidate will have the ability to use Nuke Compositing software confidently, meeting the brief for each film while fulfilling the creative standards of the project. You'll be responsible for tackling shots creatively, maintaining continuity, and taking ownership of their final look.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Using Nuke Compositing software to meet the creative brief and fulfill the project's standards
  • Tackling shots creatively while maintaining continuity and taking responsibility for their final look
  • Thinking of innovative solutions to enhance shots without overshadowing the overall story point or animation
  • Seamlessly working with 2D, CG, and/or 2.5D shots, understanding limitations in 2D and CG animation pipelines when required
  • Managing time allocated to assigned work, being organized and methodical, and dealing with large amounts of shots
  • Producing final shots with neat and well-labelled node networks, easy-to-navigate filing systems, and reference files in correct locations
  • Communicating proactively with upstream teams and production to ensure efficient delivery of animation layers to compositing
  • Aiding in implementing improvements to the Comp pipeline with the Pipeline team

About you:

You'll have a superior eye for composition, colour, mood, and lighting, with an understanding of film colour space and grading. Experience in similar roles and proficiency in Nuke Compositing software are essential. Additionally, you should be able to take direction from Supervisors and Leads, address notes appropriately, and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Salary Range: AU$80,000 - AU$120,000 per annum. Note that salaries may vary based on experience.
