Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Lead to manage defence engineering projects from initiation to completion. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, in accordance with QinetiQ's Project Management framework and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate cross-functional teams, comprising engineers, fabricators, manufacturers, applied imaging, facilities, and trials personnel.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Financial Management: Oversee project finances, including budgeting, tracking, and forecasting.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal impact on delivery schedules and costs.
Requirements
  • Education: A vocational qualification (Diploma) in Project Management or equivalent is desirable, supported by relevant project management experience in a complex environment.
  • Skills: Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, monitoring, and control.
  • Experience: Proven track record of delivering projects within a defence or aerospace industry environment.
