Compassionate Care Worker Job Description

Our organization provides support services to individuals with diverse needs in their homes and communities.

  • We offer personalized care and assistance to participants with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 3, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, mobility challenges, and behaviours of concern.
  • Your role will include providing daily living support, behaviour strategies and routine implementation, community access and activities, assistance with mobility and manual handling, following daily routines, and communicating effectively with families and the care team.
  • You will work one-on-one with participants, building strong relationships and delivering person-centred support.
  • Our current shifts available are Monday to Friday, with a mix of full-day and shorter shifts, while most shifts are daytime, evening or night shifts may occasionally be required based on participant needs.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A certificate in disability, individual support, or related field
  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs or challenging behaviors
  • Confidence in implementing support plans and working independently
  • A trauma-informed, respectful, and person-centred approach
  • Emotional resilience and strong communication skills

Key Requirements:

  • NDIS worker screening clearance
  • Paid blue card (working with children check)
  • First aid and CPR certificate
  • Manual handling training
  • NDIS worker orientation and infection control modules
  • COVID-19 vaccination (minimum 2 doses)
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
