Job Overview:

This role presents a unique opportunity to support the Permanency Support Program team as a Casework Assistant. You will collaborate with PSP Case Managers to provide daily operations support, assist with case work administration duties and operational support to the team.

The Opportunity:

The Permanency Support Program is committed to promoting safety, wellbeing and positive life outcomes for children and young people in the child protection and out-of-home-care systems in NSW. The program delivers tailored services and supports for children, young people and their families who are experiencing vulnerability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to Caseworkers/Case Managers in their efforts to provide care and improve the life experiences of vulnerable children, young people, and families.
  • Undertake tasks that support case planning and documentation, referrals and appointments, case visits, and day-to-day team priorities.
  • Offer administrative support to the Case Managers by updating children and young people's files, scheduling meetings, preparing minutes and agendas for internal and external meetings, and preparing reports.
  • Support Case Managers to provide relevant information to schools and daycare settings and complete up-to-date genograms for children and young people's families.

Requirements:

We seek an individual with a Diploma or Certificate in Community Services, Community Welfare, Children's Services or other related discipline. You will possess exceptional organisational and administrative skills, high levels of computer literacy in MS Office and databases, and an understanding of the needs of children and young people who have entered or are about to enter the out-of-home-care system.
