Electrical Engineering Leadership Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our team in the design and delivery of electrical engineering solutions across various mineral and metal commodities.

  • The successful candidate will coordinate and direct the electrical engineering function, ensuring quality, safety, and client requirements are met within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate project electrical design activities, ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulations.
  • Supervise Design Engineers and Designer/Drafting staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example, performance managing, mentoring, coaching, training, recruiting, and retaining high-performing team members.
  • Select and manage external electrical consultants' performance, driving collaboration and innovation.
  • Prepare project plans, budgets, and resource allocation for management approval, ensuring timely completion and quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of quality management processes, providing vision for innovative engineering solutions.
  • Support project development activities, working closely with clients to deliver value-added solutions.
  • Collaborate with Principal Engineers to provide unified multidiscipline engineering solutions, resolving complex problems.
  • Foster collaboration with business units and regional engineering groups, promoting consistent, quality, and appropriate engineering outcomes.
  • Utilize effective interpersonal skills to build strong relationships and network industry contacts, driving business growth.
  • Provide Safety Leadership for the Electrical Engineering team, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in design/consultancy environment in engineering capacity.
  • Metals and Minerals Processing industry experience, with a focus on heavy industry environments.
  • Experience in leading and managing technical/project teams, with a strong technical foundation in Electrical and Instrumentation design.
  • Understanding of key electrical engineering design activities, including Hazardous Area, Functional Safety, Lightning Protection, Lighting, and Power system studies.
  • Desirable: CPENG and/or RPEng accreditation, project management skills, MS Office suite proficiency.
