Our mission is to provide quality care and services that enable individuals with disabilities to live in their homes and enjoy Supported Independent Living.

We are seeking skilled professionals to join our team as Disability Support Workers for clients in Brisbane, Australia.

The role of a Disability Support Worker involves assisting people with disabilities to live in their homes or in supported independent living arrangements that are individualized and flexible. This may include domestic assistance, meal preparation, personal care, social and community participation, behaviour support, therapeutic activities, and various other services and supports tailored to the individual's needs.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing daily living assistance such as personal care, meal preparation, and general household tasks.
  • Responding to client needs and collaborating positively with families, support people, and others in their lives.
  • Assisting with planning and scheduling of client daily activities and routines.
  • Participating in the review of care plans by ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate; daily reporting and administration, including medication charts and incident reporting to the Operations Manager.
  • Promoting independence, giving choice, encouraging inclusiveness, and respecting the rights and privacy of an individual with a disability through planning and creating opportunities.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Disability or Aged Care Qualification, Cert III or higher (desirable).
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Relevant work experience (desirable).
  • A current police check or willingness to obtain.
  • Current first aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability and experience to perform household cleaning tasks.
  • Completion of the NDIS worker orientation module.
  • Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate.

Flexibility is required from our staff, including weekend availability, early mornings, nights, and overnight sleepovers. We offer competitive pay based on the Award Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
