About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Horticulturist to join our team at Sutherland Shire Council. As a key member of our Green Team, you will be responsible for maintaining our stunning horticultural assets, ensuring they remain beautiful, safe, and vibrant for our community to enjoy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve our parks and gardens, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Plan and execute a variety of horticultural tasks, including pruning, planting, and pest management.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to achieve our goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve our horticultural assets and services.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to community inquiries and concerns.
Requirements
  • Certificate 3 Horticulture or equivalent qualifications in a related field.
  • NSW - WHS General Induction Card (White card).
  • Possess a Chemcert (AQF3) or equivalent qualification.
  • Class MR Licence – valid or willingness to complete within 6 months of appointment.
  • A strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with staff, peers, and the public.
