Clinical Midwife Role

As a Clinical Midwife, you will have the opportunity to practice women-centred care within the scope of a Registered Midwife.

About the Role

Clinical Midwives work across ambulatory and non-ambulatory services, providing advanced knowledge, clinical support, leadership, and supervision in Midwifery Antenatal Clinics, Antenatal Assessment Unit (AAU), Birthing Suite, and Postnatal ward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert midwifery care to women and newborns, adhering to evidence-based practice and our service's standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centred care.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to midwifery practice.
  • Maintain accurate records, communicate effectively, and adhere to legislative requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife or eligibility to apply.
  • Relevant experience and qualifications in midwifery, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
