About the Role

The Penrith City Council is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated professional to join our team as a Community Facilities and Recreation Planner. This role will play a key part in implementing the Council's Sport and Recreation Strategy and contributing to the strategic planning of organisational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with user groups, key agencies, and the community in the planning, design, and development of open space, recreation, sport, and playspace infrastructure.
  • Develop, lead, and contribute to the delivery of complex sports, recreation, open space, play, and community facility planning, policy, and infrastructure projects.
  • Lead the transition from strategy and facility development into facility operation, including the development of business and governance models.
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in open space planning, sport, leisure, or recreation, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience working in recreation, open space, sport, playspace, and community facilities planning, project development, and delivery, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to lead and contribute to project teams and the delivery of project outcomes.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to assess and develop strategies, policies, masterplans, grant applications, business cases, and benchmarks and standards.
Desirable Criteria
  • Current Class C driver's license.
What We Offer

A commencing salary of $112,849.00 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation. You may be required to undertake background checks relevant to the position.
