Job Description
As a Marine Technician - Hull, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of auxiliary systems on board ships. This includes maintaining freshwater generation plants, stabilisers, air compressors, and ship's hull and structural fittings. Your work will involve hands-on maintenance, repair, and modification of equipment, as well as collaborating with other technicians to achieve shared goals.
Salary and Benefits
You can expect a competitive salary package starting from $75,451 for surface fleet personnel and $94,054 for submariners. Additionally, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including:
- A Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication, which you will earn through extensive on-the-job training and education;

Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, you must be over 17 years old, an Australian citizen, and have passed Year 10 English, Maths, and Science. If you are not an Australian citizen, you may still be eligible to join the ADF if you meet certain criteria. You will also need to undergo a Pre-entry Fitness Assessment (PFA), although this is no longer a requirement for Navy roles except for Divers.
