We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Kapitol Group. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in managing the full tender process of medium to large-scale projects, helping us build our pipeline of work.
Key Responsibilities- Independently manage a portfolio of tenders, submissions, and BOQs, liaising with stakeholders to produce high-quality submissions.
- Lead by example and mentor our Estimators to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date cost information, ensuring that all tender proposals and submissions are of the highest quality.
- Attend tender interviews and take the lead as required, representing Kapitol Group and our values.
- Liaise with project teams and prepare project schedules, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Preparation of construction budgets for handover to the construction team, ensuring that all budgets are accurate and comprehensive.
- Help continually improve our estimating processes and systems, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the industry.
- You have a genuine passion for the construction industry and estimating, with a strong understanding of construction systems and methodologies.
- You hold a tertiary qualification in Construction Management or a related discipline, or have equivalent experience in a senior estimating role.
- You have extensive experience in a senior estimating role, working across multiple projects and ideally in Tier 1 & 2 builders.
- You have a proven background in autonomously leading medium-to-large tender processes, including the rating and vetting of all trades, value-management, and pricing preliminaries.
- You have high-level proficiency with CostX and Estimate One, and are well-versed in preliminaries costing.
- You have a strong understanding of construction systems and methodologies, and the ability to demonstrate this to clients.
- You have strong experience in building and maintaining relationships built on trust and authenticity, and are able to juggle multiple priorities and context-switch quickly.
- You have experience mentoring junior team members, and are a strong team player with a highly motivated attitude.
