Job Description

Relocation support is available for this Sydney-based Senior Lawyer position, prioritizing wellbeing with paid external supervision and five extra leave days.

This full-time Senior Lawyer role suits an experienced and independent legal practitioner with 5+ years' PAE, ready to work autonomously while mentoring and contributing to outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering legal services in civil, criminal, and/or family law (Local Court and duty list appearances)
  • Leading on employment law matters (strongly preferred, but not essential)
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff, PLTs, and law students
  • Participating in outreach programs across libraries, prisons, courts, and refuges
  • Building referral pathways and engaging with community stakeholders
  • Leading or contributing to community legal education and systemic advocacy
  • Supporting innovation, continuous improvement, and a fast-moving legal environment
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • A background in employment law
  • Experience with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • Confidence in changeable environments and strong IT competency
  • Ability to build rapport with vulnerable clients and frontline partners
  • Passion for advocacy, outreach, and making the law accessible
