Job Title: Fire Engineering DirectorWe are seeking an experienced Associate-level Fire Engineering Director to lead our fire engineering department and drive the strategic direction of our fire engineering services.
Key Responsibilities:- Reporting directly to the CEO and Building Services Directors, responsible for leading and resourcing the fire engineering team.
- Managing a team of engineers, including mentoring Junior Engineers, Apprentices, and Graduates.
- Overseeing the production of design deliverables, including fire safety strategies, specifications, and reports.
- Ensuring that engineering designs meet quality standards, project briefs, and client requirements.
- Engaging directly with clients, delivering presentations, and managing client relationships on key projects.
- Performing all duties typically expected of a Senior/Associate Engineer, with a particular focus on fire engineering.
- A degree relevant to Fire Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent M&E construction experience and qualifications.
- Professional affiliation or chartership (e.g., MIFireE, CEng, MCIBSE) is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 4 years experience in a fire engineering role within building services or general construction.
- A strong understanding of the commercial aspects of engineering projects.
- Experience with fire engineering software such as PyroSim, FDS, or similar tools is advantageous but not essential.
