Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. This is a hands-on role that requires deep expertise in financial accounting, paired with a passion for systems and process transformation.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial reporting and compliance standards, as well as experience with workflow automation tools. They will be responsible for leading the month-end and year-end close processes, preparing statutory financial statements, and providing support for external audits.

In addition, the successful candidate will own and manage the finance systems stack, including ERP, reporting platforms, and integration tools. They will work closely with IT and Operations to optimize system performance, scalability, and user adoption.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare statutory financial statements in line with AASB and IFRS standards
  • Provide support for external audits and manage coordination with auditors
  • Own and manage the finance systems stack - including ERP, reporting platforms and integration tools
  • Work closely with IT and Operations to optimise system performance, scalability and user adoption

Leadership & Support:

  • Lead and mentor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members
  • Train the broader Finance team on systems, tools, and reporting workflows
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Operations teams, responding to queries and supporting commercial decision-making

About You:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • CPA or CA qualified
  • 3-5 years' experience in accounting or finance, including 1-2+ years in a systems-heavy environment
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and compliance standards
  • Ideal for someone making a first move out of Chartered
  • You are already based in Sydney — and available to work at Lane Cove West

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident working cross-functionally, especially with IT and Operations
  • High attention to detail, with a process-driven mindset
