Job Overview

The Audit and Risk Committee plays a vital role in providing independent assurance and guidance on key organizational areas including financial reporting, audit, internal control effectiveness, risk management and regulatory compliance. This oversight mechanism is essential for instilling confidence in the integrity of these practices.

Main Responsibilities

  • Advise the Council on financial reporting, audit, internal control effectiveness, risk management and regulatory compliance matters
  • Ensure the integrity of financial reporting and regulatory compliance processes are upheld

Requirements

Committee members should be chartered accountants or hold equivalent qualifications, with experience in financial management, risk and public sector governance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to navigate complex organizational issues.

Appointments will be made for a three-year term, renewable once. Regular committee meetings will be held at least four times a year.
