Automotive Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with diagnosing engine and electronic issues, performing routine vehicle maintenance services, and working with various tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing the workstations and closing the workshop.
  • Use diagnostic tools and scanning equipment to identify faults in engine and electronic components.
  • Inspect and assess vehicles to accurately diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles based on diagnosed issues and repair estimates.
  • Carry out routine vehicle maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, filter replacements, and other preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Provide detailed estimates for repairs and obtain customer approval before proceeding with work.
  • Tyre fitting, tyre balancing and flat tyre repair.
  • Maintain detail documentations of all repairs, part used maintenance and time spent on work performed.
Requirements:
  • An Australian recognised trade qualification Cert III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • An Open Driver License.
  • Knowledge of various tools such as shocker machine, wheel balancing machine, hoists, scanner tool, tyre change machine and brake test machines.
