Position Overview

As a Case Coordinator within our Foster Care Division, your primary responsibility will be to ensure effective management of foster care placements, enhancing the prospects for family reunification. Additionally, you will provide essential supervision and assistance to foster carers.

The aim of this role is to elevate the well-being of children and adolescents by implementing services and achieving program objectives through the guidance, oversight, and development of participants in the Foster Care initiative. OzChild operates as part of the ACTTogether consortium.

Collaborating with a dedicated team of case coordinators, you will strive to improve outcomes for both children and their carers, fostering a more dynamic and responsive care model.

Our mission is to ensure that every child is safe, valued, nurtured, and empowered to realize their full potential.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage cases for both carers and children
  • Travel to meet with carers and placements as needed
  • Conduct assessments and develop placement plans
  • Facilitate the growth of skilled and confident foster carers
  • Support family reunification efforts
  • Provide ongoing support to carers
  • Evaluate potential foster carers through comprehensive assessments and identify suitable placements

Essential Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Services, Social Work, Social Sciences, or Psychology
  • In-depth knowledge of the foster care system
  • Valid driving license (mandatory)
  • Experience in case management
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments within the foster care context
