Financial Leadership Role

The role of Financial Controller plays a critical part in financial planning and strategy development to ensure the financial health and stability of an organisation.

This senior leadership position is responsible for managing and directing all financial activities, leading the finance function, and providing strategic financial advice to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, build and manage a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial data accuracy.
  • Partner with other leaders to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and existing actions.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders ensuring transparency.
  • Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives and long-term goals.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain financial software and systems to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements in finance and recommend appropriate tools and solutions.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, including credit, liquidity, and market risks.
  • Oversee the company's cash flow to ensure liquidity needs are met and optimise working capital.
  • Ensure all insurance-related financial transactions are properly recorded and compliant with accounting standards.

Candidate Profile:

  • Over 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including time in senior management roles.
  • Tertiary qualification: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field with Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation or a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • Demonstrated experience in financial leadership, regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey complex financial information.
  • Strategic thinking and a demonstrated ability to contribute to overall business strategy.
