Leisure and Activities Officer Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Leisure and Activities Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our residents by planning and delivering engaging activities that cater to their diverse needs and interests.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate leisure and recreational activities for residents, taking into consideration their interests, abilities, and preferences.
  • Organize group outings, social events, and entertainment programs to promote social interaction and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure activities are tailored to meet the individual needs of residents.
  • Assist in the preparation and decoration of common areas for special events and holidays.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or other relevant qualification.
  • Certificate III in Aged Care is desirable.
  • Experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities and programmes for older people with cognitive impairment and other disabilities.
  • Ability to document assessments, care plans, and progress notes to meet legislative, funding, and quality improvement requirements.
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box when planning activities.
