Role Overview

Peninsula Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Health Psychologist to join its growing inpatient psychology team. This permanent part-time role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals to deliver psychological services to consumers in a physical health and rehabilitation setting.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing holistic care that maximizes consumers' function and independence. The role involves completing evidence-based assessments and developing shared formulations with consumers and teams to inform treatment and interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological services to consumers in acute medical and surgical wards, subacute rehabilitation, and Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) wards
  • Work directly with consumers and multi-disciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support mental health presentations, management strategies, and discharge planning recommendations

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in psychology from an Australian University
  • Current registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Area of Practice Endorsement (or working towards same) in Clinical, Health or Counselling Psychology
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in the field of psychology, with experience in health psychology and physical rehabilitation an advantage
