Lead Designer

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Designer to join our design team in Melbourne.

About the Role:

  • As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of designers to ensure adherence to the critical path.
  • Allocate work in sample development to guarantee consistent workflow.
  • Translate design concepts into final design stories that are cohesive and aligned with our brand values.
  • Manage fabric sampling and liaise with suppliers on material needs.
  • Arrange contract workers for in-house sampling if necessary.
  • Conduct sourcing and fabric development for seasonal collections.
  • Develop custom fabrics, print designs, textile designs, and knitwear designs.
  • Source innovative materials and techniques while maintaining design integrity.
  • Research new innovations and techniques to implement across the team.
  • Deliver high-quality final designs ready for periodic design reviews.

Your Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience as a Design Room Manager or similar role.
  • Experience working with local & offshore production.
  • Broad experience catering to global markets.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and technical understanding of garment construction.
