Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Crisis Support Practitioner to join our dedicated team. As a Crisis Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing crisis counselling, risk assessment, and referral pathways to Queenslanders who have been impacted by an interpersonal violent crime.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with external stakeholders, including Queensland Police, Victims Assist Queensland, and other community services, to facilitate smooth referral pathways for clients accessing our service.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide crisis counselling and risk assessments* Manage competing tasks within agreed timeframes, including planning, implementation, and coordination of practical support or case management* Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including sector and non-sector partners* Demonstrate cultural responsiveness and commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Behavioural Science, Social Work, Human Services, or other relevant fields* Minimum two years of professional experience in the social and community services sector* Demonstrated experience working with people impacted by violence and understanding of trauma-informed approach
