Senior GIS Analyst Role

This senior-level position involves leveraging advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing expertise to drive project success.

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS analyst to join our team in Western Australia. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in remote sensing, data analysis, and reporting.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  1. Executing complex remote sensing projects, including proposal development, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
  2. Developing and implementing advanced algorithms and models for image processing and data interpretation.
  3. Conducting spatial and temporal analysis to extract meaningful insights from remote sensing data.
  4. Collaborating with cross-discipline teams to integrate remote sensing analysis with other environmental projects.
  5. Building and maintaining relationships with clients on allocated projects and new opportunities.
  6. Managing project delivery through budget tracking, internal and external client liaison, and accurate data management.
  7. Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in remote sensing technology and contributing to research initiatives.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Geographical Information Systems, or similar Tertiary Qualification, with experience in GIS and remote sensing.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the use of remote sensing software (e.g., eCognition, ArcGIS Pro) and image processing algorithms (e.g., machine learning, deep learning).
  • Professional experience of 4-7 years.
  • Experience across ESRI Software Suite and FME.
  • Programming skills (proficiency in Python or R language preferred).
  • A genuine interest and passion towards environmental science.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously while maintaining client and staff relationships.
