Civil Inspection Specialist

Civil Inspectors/ Senior Civil Inspectors play a crucial role at SGS, ensuring the highest quality of precast concrete components and civil works for prefabricated buildings. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing inspections with strict compliance to agreed plans, monitoring concrete tests, and conducting technical evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute work with strict adherence to inspection and test plans to guarantee integrity and compliance with international codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Carry out inspections as per ITP for precast concrete components, RC Structures, and civil works of prefabricated buildings.
- Conduct pre-inspection meetings to understand quality and inspection requirements according to applicable codes, standards, specifications, and project needs.
- Monitor concrete tests such as slump test, air content, temperature, and unit weight in accordance with ASTM and project specifications during manufacturing of Precast structural elements.
- Perform technical evaluations for manufacturer facilities regarding Structural and Precast elements.
- Reject products that fail to meet quality expectations.
- Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare final products to specifications.
- Document inspection outcomes through detailed reports and performance records.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree or vocational diploma graduate or equivalent.
- Good English language skills.
- For senior inspectors, 7-10 years of inspection experience in manufacturing plants, including 5 years of inspection experience in specific commodity and processes to be inspected.
- Fully conversant with Industry standards, specifications, and fabrication methods and able to perform various inspection functions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements and implementation.
- Experience in inspection of asphalt/concrete mix ingredients in accordance with applicable ASTM, AASHTO, or ACI procedures and guidelines.
- Ability to assess plant QC laboratory equipment, procedures, techniques, sample recording, and result reporting compliance with applicable standards.
Salary Estimate: The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and location.
