At McConnell Dowell, we are seeking a skilled Senior Health and Safety Executive to join our team. This role will cover the QLD/NT and NSW/ACT regions, reporting directly to the National Health and Safety Manager.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing health and safety management support to both our current operational construction projects and the health and safety teams across our projects and tenders.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure effective implementation of health and safety management systems to achieve compliance with MMS/PMP, legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Provide advice, development, and mentoring to Project Health and Safety teams to enable independence and capability in safe project delivery.
  • Deliver health and safety direction, strategy, and implementation across the region in accordance with the Region Business Plan.
  • Ensure legal compliance and provide management insight.
  • Maintain a consistent, coordinated, and effective approach to health and safety across the region.
  • Promote continual improvement in health and safety performance year on year.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 10 years' operational experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction industry.
  • A minimum Diploma in OHS qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills, preferably with stand-up training experience.
  • Proficiency in in-house software and working knowledge of wider applications.
  • Experience in investigating and reporting safety incidents.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and audit procedures.
