Job Title: Protection Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Protection Design Engineer to join our team at Atkins Réalis, a world-leading design, engineering and project management organisation.

About the Role:

  • Lead a team of secondary system designers and support our multi-disciplinary design and project management teams.
  • Take ownership of preparing and delivering a full scope of secondary design for new and brownfield sites.
  • Maintain client relationships to support project delivery and engage as a subject matter specialist.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals, establish budgets and develop project schedules.
  • Participate actively in design reviews, risk assessments and quality control processes to ensure design excellence.

We are looking for a talented Protection Design Engineer to join our team in Australia. If you have experience in the design, development and implementation of protection, control, SCADA, familiarity with modern digital relays, relay coordination, applications/settings as well as auxiliary supply systems for high voltage networks, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver secondary systems for high voltage networks.
  • Lead a team of designers and support project delivery.
  • Maintain client relationships and engage as a subject matter specialist.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals and develop project schedules.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the design of HV and EHV substation installations.
  • Expertise in secondary systems design, including Protection, SCADA and auxiliary supplies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
  • Experience working in digital engineering environments and delivering to local technical standards and guidelines.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical / Power Engineering or an Equivalent.
