Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Parks Maintenance Operator to join our team at the City of Armadale. As a key member of our parks and reserves team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of our city's parks, gardens, and streetscapes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks and 4WD spray units for park and reserve maintenance.
  • Utilise tractors and various 3-point linkage equipment as needed.
  • Undertake horticultural and landscaping activities such as earth working, mulching, weeding, pruning, planting, and spraying approved herbicides.
  • Use mowers, whipper snippers, and other small equipment for maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to flexible park duty rosters, including operating tractors, trucks, spray units, ride-on mowers, and small plant equipment.
  • Ensure the proper use, cleanliness, and presentation of vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain professional and courteous relationships with the general public and staff.

Requirements

  • Experience in large scale parks maintenance.
  • Experience to operate a variety of horticultural plant and equipment in a safe and competent manner.
  • Experience operating ride on mowers - desirable.
  • Experience in using a powered spray unit.
  • You must possess a current MR/ HR licence.
  • Ability to obtain a current National Police Check and pass a pre-employment medical.
