Job Summary:
Centacare is seeking a Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with complex needs to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Behavioural Support services to individuals with complex needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other developmental disabilities.
- Develop and implement Behavioural Support plans that are tailored to the individual's needs and goals.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to support.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify the individual's strengths, needs, and goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to support the individual's behaviour, including positive reinforcement, redirection, and crisis intervention.
- Provide training and support to family members and caregivers on Behavioural Support strategies and techniques.
Requirements:
- Relevant undergraduate qualifications, such as a degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with a relevant professional body, such as the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Eligibility for NDIS registration to provide Specialist Behaviour Support.
- Certification by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or working towards.
- Masters level qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis or a related field.
