This is a permanent, full-time position as an EAL/D Teacher at St Francis Catholic College commencing at the start of Term 1.

Job DescriptionThe successful applicant will be responsible for teaching EAL/D students in Primary Schools, collaborating with the School Leadership Team and CEDoW EAL/D Officers, and designing and facilitating professional learning opportunities. They will also coordinate and facilitate the collection of student work samples and assessment data, support EAL/D students' learning needs through various pedagogical processes, and apply expert knowledge of diverse students' needs to support their participation in learning.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective EAL/D curriculum and instructional strategies to support student learning;
- Collaborate with teachers and other stakeholders to develop and implement school-wide EAL/D programs;
- Design and deliver professional learning opportunities to build teacher capacity in EAL/D pedagogy;
- Analyze student data to inform instruction and drive student outcomes;
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive learning environment;
- A deep understanding of and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church;
- A well-articulated understanding and application of student-centred, quality EAL/D pedagogical practices grounded in current evidence-based research;
- The ability to identify EAL/D students' needs and plan for appropriate student support K-6;
- Expert knowledge of the diverse needs of students of EAL/D to support their full participation in learning;
- Facilitate the analysis of student work samples using ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions (and/or The ESL Scales) to direct teaching and learning;
- Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers, and the wider school community;
- University TESOL training or a willingness to undertake such training;
- Appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K-6;
- Accredited Level B to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW;
- NESA accreditation to teach in NSW;
This role involves working in a busy educational environment, requiring strong organisational skills, well-developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
We offer a competitive salary package ranging from $85,000 to over $120,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
