About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Advanced Psychiatry Registrar to join our team at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. As an Advanced Psychiatry Registrar, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, formulate, and develop treatment plans for patients treated at the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (Family Counselling Service) under the supervision of the consultant psychiatrist, and for patients admitted to St Vincent's Mental Health.
  • Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including Aboriginal Health Workers, on the formulation and delivery of the treatment plan.
  • Develop and display an awareness and sensitivity to cultural, social, and historical factors that may contribute to presentations, integrating this awareness and sensitivity into the treatment plan.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for general registration.
  • Registration as a medication prescriber.
