St Benedict's Catholic College, Oran Park: Acting Assistant Principal

We are seeking an experienced education leader to fill the role of Acting Assistant Principal at St Benedict's Catholic College, Oran Park. This is a temporary position for the duration of the 2025 school year.

About the College

Our college takes its inspiration from St. Benedict of Nursia, the patron saint of students and the father of western monasticism. Set in a semi-rural environment, we offer a range of subjects from Stages 4-6 and extra-curricular activities including sporting and cultural representative pathways through the Diocese of Wollongong and the Macarthur Independent Schools Association (MISA).

In the Benedictine tradition, we aim to develop a love of learning and a love of God in a pastorally caring environment where 'the strong have something to strive for and the poor have nothing to run from.' Our education sets its sights on the transformation of the human mind and heart, stressing the formation of the whole person rather than the intellect alone.

About You
  • You will be someone who gives witness to the faith and contributes to the Catholic life and culture of the school community.
  • You will build a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.
  • You will build capacity through your own professional development and supporting staff by providing access to effective continual professional learning opportunities, giving regular feedback and managing performance.
  • You will act strategically to drive school improvement initiatives aligned to the school's vision and strategic plan.
  • You will ensure that school processes meet system, NESA and legislative requirements.
  • You will develop and maintain positive partnerships with students, families and carers, the local church and the wider school community.
Requirements
  • Post-graduate study in a relevant discipline (or working towards).
  • Accreditation for Senior Leadership in a Catholic School in accordance with the 'Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong' policy (or a commitment to acquiring within a 5-year period).
Working with Children Clearance

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore requires a working with children clearance to be completed prior to commencement.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
