Job Description
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Family Services Department.
  • Coach and manage the family services and clinical staff in approaches with next of kin for organ, tissue and eye donation.
  • Participate in end-of-life discussions with next of kin and/or significant others of potential donors.
  • Ensure staff is providing informed authorization or disclosure to all donor families.
  • Perform monthly audits of reports to monitor department and individual goals.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain comprehensive medical social history interviews with next of kin, significant others and/or healthcare professionals of potential organ and tissue donors.
  • Complete accurate reporting and documentation during shift change.
  • Collaborate with key hospital staff members on active referrals and/or cases as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in a professional healthcare environment.
