Our client, a prominent global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer with significant design experience in Brownfields Oil & Gas projects to enhance their Operations division. This position is structured as a contract role.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will report to the Regional Discipline Manager and collaborate across various disciplines throughout the FEED and EPCM delivery phases. Your specific tasks will include:

  • Delivering comprehensive process engineering services, from conceptual design to detailed engineering and project close-out, ensuring timely completion of deliverables in line with approved schedules.
  • Conducting complex process engineering calculations and HYSYS simulations, both steady-state and dynamic.
  • Creating P&IDs, PFDs, heat and material balances, and detailed equipment data sheets.
  • Executing hydraulic and overpressure/blowdown calculations and participating in safety assessments.
  • Utilizing a hands-on approach to resolve engineering challenges, with experience in commissioning offshore and/or drilling systems considered advantageous.
Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, candidates must be Australian citizens or hold Permanent Residency (PR) and possess the legal right to work in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution and meet the following criteria:
  • A minimum of 7 years of design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production sector.
  • Proficiency in applying relevant theories, codes, and standards specific to the process discipline.
  • Capability to manage risks throughout the design process, aligning with both technical and commercial objectives.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to undertake site visits, whether onshore or offshore.
  • Well-versed in computer applications, including databases, spreadsheets, and engineering software.
  • A proactive problem-solver with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Experience in HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL rating studies is essential.
  • Familiarity with HYSYS and Dynamic HYSYS is preferred.
