Job Overview

This role oversees the creation and deployment of electronic trading platforms for a major Australian bank.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, experience with Java (8/17), Spring Boot, and AWS services.

  • You will be responsible for architecting and implementing high-performance systems that support complex financial transactions.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering leader to oversee the development of scalable, low-latency systems for real-time pricing, negotiation, and trade execution across dealer-to-dealer and dealer-to-client markets.

You will work closely with trading desks, quant teams, and product owners to deliver innovative solutions that enhance market competitiveness and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, low-latency systems for electronic trading platforms.

  • Work closely with trading desks, quant teams, and product owners to deliver innovative solutions.

  • Architect and implement high-performance systems that support complex financial transactions.

  • Develop options for improving and updating current capability.

  • Champion thought leadership for process architecture.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in Java (8/17), Spring Boot, and distributed systems architecture.

  • Experience with IRS market platforms such as Tradeweb and MarkitWire.

  • Strong understanding of IRS instruments, pricing conventions, and swap templates.

  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, Redis, SNS, SQS), Kafka/EventHub, DevSecOps/CI/CD technologies.

  • Experienced in using Agentic AI to assist engineering effort.

  • Knowledge of quant libraries and risk analytics integration.

  • SSL standard for secure encrypted communications.
