With more than 130 accredited and non-accredited courses across 11 campus locations, including Shepparton, Wangaratta, Seymour, Benalla, and Wallan, as well as online and mobile campuses, GOTAFE is dedicated to empowering students to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective financial strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations and reporting.
  • Provide expert technical financial advice across all divisions, ensuring the integrity of financial systems data and maintaining appropriate general ledger structures.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of year-end statutory accounts and monthly Board reporting, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain robust internal controls for financial accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Drive GOTAFE's financial success by demonstrating a deep understanding of the organization's long-term goals, values, and the broader legal and educational context.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV or higher in Accounting or a related field, preferably with CA/CPA qualifications.
  • Substantial experience in delivering high-quality financial services and advice in large organizations.
  • Proven leadership ability to mentor, motivate, and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including negotiation, problem-solving, and written communication.

What's on Offer

The Lead Financial Strategist role at GOTAFE offers a competitive salary range of $130,000-$140,000 TRP and flexible working arrangements. Occasional office-based work may be required, but the majority of the role can be performed remotely.
