Job Description

This exciting opportunity exists for a Fleet Maintenance Professional to join the team as a Diesel Mechanic. As an experienced heavy vehicle mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining the PENSKE Rental and Leasing fleet.

Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring the fleet is presentable, reliable, and compliant to NHVL requirements.
  • Managing a small stock of inventory and maintaining the workshop in a clean and tidy state.
  • Maintaining the fleet's aesthetic appearance by washing, cleaning, and detailing.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Diagnosing, repairing, and implementing strategies to maximise fleet availability while controlling costs.
  • Identifying and recommending preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Coordinating your workload and ensuring servicing of vehicles according to the OEM/commercial scheduled maintenance program.
  • Traveling and assisting in field service activities as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of an appropriate trade qualification, preferably a mechanical trade certificate.
  • Previous experience in servicing heavy vehicles/road transport (preferred).
  • A strong safety focus and ability to work unsupervised and autonomously.
  • HR License (preferable but not necessary).
  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • A strong customer focus, committed to providing an exceptional experience to customers.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills, with a 'can-do' attitude.
