Job Title: Artificial Intelligence Researcher

The Faculty of Engineering at UNSW Adelaide is offering an exciting opportunity for aResearch Associate in Artificial Intelligence.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting both independent and collaborative research activities to advance your expertise in the field of Cognitive Robotics and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning/Neuro-Symbolic AI.
This position offers a chance to advance your scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in Cognitive Robotics and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning/Neuro-Symbolic AI.
  • Contribute to writing scientific papers and reports for international journals; participate in conferences and workshops; engage with industry partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and engage with industry partners.

Requirements:

  • PhD (or soon to be awarded) in knowledge representation and reasoning (artificial intelligence) or neurosymbolic AI or related area.
  • Proven commitment to staying up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  • Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
  • Understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
