About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting key governance activities across Suncorp Bank, including the execution of the business continuity management program of work, managing major event responses, and supporting the Suncorp Bank CEO in the role of an Accountable Person under the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR).

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the response and recovery activities in the event of a business disruption and ensure continuity of critical functions and services.
  • Develop and maintain FAR responsibility mapping, including ensuring Accountable Person reasonable steps can be demonstrated.
  • Develop, deliver, and implement business continuity requirements within Bank teams, including coordinating annual activities with Bank and cross-function stakeholders.
  • Work with key stakeholders to build knowledge and maturity of robust governance practices.
  • Coordinate end-to-end risk management activities where centralised coordination and specialisation are required.
  • Develop training and education programs in areas of specialisation (e.g., FAR, business continuity) to support the build of capability across 1LoD and Risk owners.
  • Provide advice and guidance to business units and functions on business continuity management matters, FAR, Governance, and best practices.
  • Support the successful implementation of CPS 230 and Business Continuity Management System.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in Business, Law, or related field.
  • Strong experience in business continuity, governance, risk management, compliance, or audit within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Suncorp Bank Frameworks and Standards, principles, and practices, and application in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Superior stakeholder skills, including coordination of key programs of work or projects.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of regulation and legislation related to an ADI.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of business continuity management, including ensuring industry best practice are shared.
  • Intermediate understanding of the Suncorp Bank business is desired.
  • Proven experience in dealing with Senior management.
