Senior Linux Systems Administrator Opportunity

We seek a seasoned and skilled Senior Linux Systems Administrator to manage and optimize our diverse fleet of Linux systems across multiple environments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to use your expertise in designing and implementing automation for provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using tools like Ansible, Terraform or scripting. You will develop reusable templates and frameworks to standardise deployments and reduce manual effort.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex infrastructure environments, with a focus on stability, security, and scalability. You will be responsible for driving platform maturity by identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements that boost performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimise a diverse fleet of Linux systems across multiple environments
  • Design and implement automation for provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using tools like Ansible, Terraform or scripting
  • Develop reusable templates and frameworks to standardise deployments and reduce manual effort
  • Drive platform maturity by identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements that boost performance, reliability, and security

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizen with the ability to hold and maintain a baseline clearance
  • 6+ years of experience in Linux infrastructure and application administration
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field desired
  • Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator or equivalent
  • Advanced scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Experience administering and updating Apache Tomcat, Wildfly, ActiveMQ and Web Server software
  • Proactive with strong problem-solving skills; able to troubleshoot complex issues independently
  • Excellent communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly
  • Calm, confident and resilient when navigating challenges or uncertainty
  • Comfortable working remotely or in office alongside team members
