Elite Orthopaedic Surgeon Wanted

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons who have a special interest and training in one or more of the following sub-specialties:

• Foot and Ankle
• Primary & Revision Hip & Knee Arthroplasty
• Hand & Upper Limb
• Brachial Plexus
• Paediatrics
• Trauma & Reconstruction

The successful applicant(s) will contribute to and assist in leading the Orthopaedic Departments. As such, you may be required to work across multiple sites which include hospitals.

All departments have a strong focus on research and education whilst providing the highest possible standard of clinical care. The applicant(s) will be expected to contribute to the teaching programme of the unit, be responsible for specific research activities and take a lead role in departmental audits.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Leading the provision of acute orthopaedic surgery services to patients,
• Promoting personalised, safe and timely care,
• Leading and promoting the organisational culture, commitment, accountability, respect and excellence,
• Actively addressing clinical risks and delays in patient care for individual patients,
• Educating and supervising junior medical staff and other healthcare workers,
• Working with heads of specialty and other consultants to manage unplanned and planned patient demand,
• Achieving national performance outcomes and meeting the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

Successful applicant(s) will also be required to undertake clinical shifts as directed including participation on the on-call, after-hours & weekend roster.
