People2people is partnering with a global market leader in the logistics space to source an experienced Ocean Freight Business Development Manager for their Brisbane office. This role will see you drive new sales activities, identifying opportunities and building strong stakeholder relationships to understand their logistics needs before providing solutions and costings.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced BDM looking to take on a new challenge or someone currently in an operations role who is hungry to move into sales. You will be responsible for reporting to the Head of Ocean Freight and forming part of a national sales team focused on generating new relationships, increasing revenue and driving growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities in the Brisbane market using various tools and sources
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to understand their logistics needs
  • Provide solutions and costings to clients

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in Freight Forwarding/Logistics industries (essential)
  • Sales/customer service/operations experience (essential) with a hunger to move into sales
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, including stakeholder engagement experience and a hunter approach
  • Strong business acumen, including an understanding of government requirements and legislation
