Yard Hand Position

Job Overview

This position involves the operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment within a yard environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, holding a current forklift license and demonstrating strong attention to safety protocols.

The successful applicant will be responsible for tasks such as loading, unloading, moving, and securing machinery and parts around the yard. Additional duties may include cleaning and detailing equipment, conducting basic inspections, and assisting with stock control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, move, and secure machinery and parts around the yard
  • Clean and detail equipment (pressure washing, degreasing)
  • Conduct basic inspections and pre-delivery checks before dispatch
  • Assist with stock control, deliveries, and preparing equipment/parts for shipment
  • Maintain yard organisation and safe storage of machinery and parts
  • Perform housekeeping in yard, wash bay, and workshop areas
  • Assist customers and drivers with equipment handover and loading

Requirements:

  • Current forklift license (essential)
  • Experience working in a machinery or warehouse yard environment
  • Strong focus on safety and attention to detail
  • Physically fit, reliable, and a good team player
