Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Front Desk Coordinator to join our team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to provide exceptional patient service and administrative support in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our reception desk, ensuring that patients are booked into clinics, outcomes are completed accurately, and follow-up appointments are arranged as necessary. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with patients and colleagues.

In addition to providing administrative support, the Front Desk Coordinator will also be responsible for training staff within their skill and knowledge boundaries. They will take personal responsibility for the quality of work undertaken and contribute towards service improvements. The role requires strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

A European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and NVQ 2 in Customer Service are required qualifications for this role. Previous experience in a similar position, particularly in the NHS, is highly desirable. A good understanding of confidentiality and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will be able to move case notes as required, use own initiative when dealing with patient enquiries, and recognize and solve problems. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with patients and colleagues.
