Improve Access to Mental Health Care for Children and Young People
We are seeking an experienced mental health clinician to join our team in providing comprehensive assessment, intake, and service linkage for young people and their families. As a key member of our Centralised Intake (CCI) team, you will utilise telephone contact/virtual care to ensure young people access the right service at the right time.
About the Role:
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a specialist mental health service that assesses and treats young people 0 - 17 years of age and their families/carers who are living in the HNE Local Health District (LHD). You will work collaboratively with a range of non-clinical and clinical professionals to provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and family-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive assessment, intake, and service linkage for young people and their families
- Utilise telephone contact/virtual care to ensure timely access to mental health services
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for young people
- Develop and maintain relationships with community services and other stakeholders
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A qualification in Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Social Work, or Counselling (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health)
- At least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of your specified post-graduate qualification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, negotiation, and critical thinking skills
- Confidence in clinical decision making and ability to work autonomously
